Detailed 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Arrival (city tour)-Akagera national park

You will be picked by the tour guide and have a short Kigali city tour and then drive to Akagera national park. Dinner and overnight at Akagera game lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

Early morning, you will go for game drives up to the northern part of the park to catch up with early risers before they go into hiding. You will have chance to see lions, antelopes, giraffes, bush bucks among others. Return to the hotel for relaxation, After lunch; go for afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will be rewarded with view of game as hippos, crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Akagera game lodge

Day 3 Akagera –Volcano national park

In the morning, you will embark on your safari van to Volcano national park via Kigali. On the way enjoy the escalading mountains which led Rwanda to be called the lad of a thousand hills. Diner and overnight at one and Only gorilla nest

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking- Visit the Twin Lakes of Rubondo and Bulera.

Have breakfast, thereafter continue to the park headquarters for briefing about the mountain gorillas in the mist and the park as well, after enter into the jungle to search for the mountain gorillas, meet them stay with them for about an hour while taking the unforgettable photographs and videos. After return to the park offices for your gorilla trekking certificate. In the afternoon, visit the Twin lakes of Rubondo and Bulera. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day 5 Golden monkey tracking – Ibyi’wachu cultural village.

In the morning, return to the same forest in search for another endangered species, the golden monkeys, they are rarely found elsewhere except in the virunga massif, enjoy them jumping around the tree tops and after return back to the park headquarters. After relaxation, drive to Ibyi’wachu cultural village and enjoy the traditional dance of the Kinyarwanda culture. Dinner and Overnight at one and only gorilla Nest .

Day 6: visoke Hike.

Very early in the morning, you will assemble at the park headquarter for briefing, be ready with your hiking shoes, insect repellent, rain gears, parked lunch, water etc. The hike will take a full day and the scenery is spectacular. Dinner and overnight at One and Only Gorilla Nest . Meal plan full board.

Day 7: City tour and Departure.

In the morning the guide will drive you back to Kigali and have a city tour. You will visit the Nyamata and Ntarama genocide memorails  which will give you a clear picture of what happened in 1994. After you be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
